5th Grade Camp for the 2016-2017 school year will be:

Tuesday, June 6 through Friday, June 9, 2017.

Cost

$220 per student

$150 per chaperone

Don’t let the cost of camp scare you! We will be doing several fundraisers throughout the year, and scholarships are available. Many students have paid for their entire trip through fundraising, and I’d love to help you achieve that goal!

Purpose

The students go to 5th grade camp to partake in activities they cannot in the classroom. The camp teaches students teamwork by working with their classmates to accomplish tasks. Camp allows students to get to know their classmates personally. They get to see a different side of their classmates and see what strengths they have outside of the classroom. The students will learn goal setting and will build self confidence. Students learn to challenge themselves, be independent, and are provided a camping opportunity they will never forget!

Activities

Students will be put through a variety of academic, physical, and mental activities, including:

Rock climbing
Archery
Fishing
Microscopes
Pioneer life
Outdoor cooking
Outdoor survival skills
Shelter building
Fire building
Exotic animals
and many more!

Chaperones

We welcome several chaperones to join us on our trip. Come see your child explore and learn in a different setting. This trip would not be possible without you! In order to make sure our children are safe, all chaperones must pass a background check in order to stay with the students overnight. Inquire with myself or another 5th grade teacher if you are interested in chaperoning.

What’s Next?

Packing lists and required medical forms will be distributed as camp nears. Chaperones, please do not wait until the last minute, as background checks take a month to process.
